Adidas Pokémon Superstar II "Pikachu": the shell toe in full yellow fur

On 27 February 1996, Pokémon Red and Green launched on Game Boy in Japan. Three decades on, Adidas Originals celebrates with an anniversary collection revealed in September 2026, and Pikachu naturally takes the lead role. This yellow version is the most faithful to the character: instead of a simple print, it turns the Superstar, the shell-toe basketball shoe from 1969, into a full Pikachu costume.

Style code KI2858 arrives in the official Yellow / Yellow / Core Black colourway. The yellow upper has a fuzzy texture that recreates Pikachu's fur, and the tongue builds out into two black-tipped ears, the detail everyone noticed when the collection was revealed. A Pikachu tail comes with the pair and a Poké Ball dubrae hangs from the laces. Core Black hits echo the ears and tail, while the character artwork on the tongue tag, the rubber shell toe and the rubber outsole keep the Superstar DNA intact.

A shoe this expressive needs a neutral fit: black jeans, grey joggers or black cargos with a white tee or charcoal hoodie, so the yellow becomes the focal point. Whether it is a convention, a shoot or a Saturday in town, these trainers are guaranteed to raise a smile.

Of all the Pokémon Superstars, this is the most playful and the most tactile. It is aimed at fans who want a pair with real personality, one to wear and one to display, without giving up the comfort of a proven low-top shape.
