Adidas Pokémon Superstar II "Pikachu BW": the graphic, everyday take on Pikachu

Thirty years after Pokémon Red and Green arrived in Japan on 27 February 1996, Pikachu is still the face of the franchise, so it is no surprise the Electric-type gets several pairs in the anniversary collection Adidas Originals unveiled in September 2026. This black and white version is the most understated of them: rather than mimicking fur, it uses a clean base and prints on the Superstar, the 1969 shell toe that crossed from the basketball court to the street.

Style code KI2857 comes in the official Cloud White / Core Black / Gold Metallic colourway. The white leather upper is covered with Pikachu graphics across its top half, while the laces are printed with Poké Balls. Black gives the shoe its structure and a hint of metallic gold lifts the white. The tongue tag carries character artwork and a Poké Ball dubrae sits on the laces, a detail shared by every pair in the collection. The rubber shell toe and rubber outsole keep the build true to the original.
