Vans: the story of the brand born in California in 1966

Vans was born in 1966 in Anaheim, California, when Paul Van Doren and his partners opened a store where they made and sold their own shoes directly. The first model, the Authentic, was quickly adopted by skaters thanks to the grip of its waffle sole. The Old Skool arrived in 1977 with its side panel stripe, the famous Sidestripe, followed in 1978 by the high-top Sk8-Hi. Almost sixty years later, Vans remain a cornerstone of skate and streetwear culture across Europe and beyond.

Old Skool 36 LX, Authentic 44 LX: the Vans edit

The Vans edit at noirfonce.eu focuses on the Premium line, marked by the LX tag. Sizing and comfort of Vans Premium trainers

Vans generally fit true to size: stick to your usual size, or go half a size up if you are between sizes, as the shape is fairly snug. On the Premium LX line, the finish is a step up from the classic models, with better materials and a more comfortable insole for all-day wear.
