Sorel x Aries Daystorm Chukka "Black, Black": triple black straight from London's underground

Founded in London by Sofia Prantera, Aries channels a "quiet rebellion" steeped in subculture, a spirit it has already brought to New Balance, Salomon and Reebok. After a first Sorel collaboration in 2025 built around the Caribou-inspired Callsign Horizon, the two brands reunite in autumn 2026 for the Daystorm Chukka. The campaign, shot by photographer Joe Cruz, stars UK grime MC D Double E, which tells you everything about the mood.

The silhouette draws on the Daystorm family, which channels Caribou DNA for city life, and takes the form of a chunky, retro-leaning chukka. A soft full-grain leather upper meets a vamp and tongue in short-pile calf hair, while the collar is trimmed in genuine shearling. A leather lining, removable OrthoLite insole, slightly aged heel counter and lugged Vibram XS Trek EVO outsole with a full-length rand complete a build designed to last, sitting on a 40 mm heel.

In this Black, Black colourway every material goes dark: a minimalist approach that lets the textures do the talking, from the leather grain to the calf hair. These men's boots pair with black cargos, washed denim or relaxed tailoring, and really come into their own under a long dark overcoat.

Neither hiking boot nor conventional city boot, the Daystorm Chukka occupies hybrid ground between outdoor gear and London fashion. A pared-back, sharp pair for anyone who follows serious collaborations and wants something beyond the usual trainers.
