Sorel Ona Ave Alpine Lux Waterproof "Snow, Sea Salt": hiker-inspired style for winter

Founded in Canada in 1962, Sorel built its name on boots made to handle the harshest winters. The brand has since expanded into more urban designs without compromising on protection. The Ona Ave line is a perfect example, and the Alpine version takes its cue straight from hiking boots, with a lace-up vamp and a rugged look reworked for city life.

The Lux take on the Ona Ave Alpine (style 217629) focuses on comfort and finish. The waterproof upper shields against rain, slush and puddles, while the fully cushioned interior and cosy collar keep feet warm. The EVA footbed is removable, the rubber midsole adds stability and the moulded EVERTREAD outsole, Sorel's own technology, delivers solid grip on wet ground. The Snow, Sea Salt colourway plays on light tones of snow white and sea-salt grey.

These bright shades are a welcome change from dark winter boots and freshen up seasonal outfits. Wear them with straight jeans or thick leggings, a chunky knit and a cropped puffer, or with wide corduroy trousers and a long wool coat. The over-the-ankle height works tucked under trousers or with wool socks on show.

Sitting between a technical snow boot and a city ankle boot, the Ona Ave Alpine Lux Waterproof strikes the right balance: protective enough for cold, wet days and stylish enough for everyday wear. A smart pick for anyone after comfortable, waterproof women's winter boots that look good all season.
