Nike Moon Shoe OG "Sail": where the Nike story really begins

Every brand has an origin story, and for Nike it's the Moon Shoe. In 1972, track coach and co-founder Bill Bowerman hand-made a small batch of pairs for the US Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. The name came from the footprint the sole left behind, said to look like the first steps on the Moon. For decades the Moon Shoe lived in archives and auction rooms. Now it returns as an OG women's release, true to the spirit of the original.

This Nike Moon Shoe OG Sail colourway keeps things clean: a warm off-white base, black hits that sharpen the lines and a low, tapered shape straight out of the seventies running scene. Underneath, the Waffle outsole recalls Bowerman's experiment with his family waffle iron, the idea that would define Nike's grip for decades.
