Adidas Taekwondo Mei Elite "Aurora Coffee": the ballet sneaker goes chocolate

Pulled from the Adidas archive, the Taekwondo silhouette borrows its lines from martial arts training shoes: a low-cut upper, a slim profile and a sole that sits close to the ground. The Mei family steered that idea towards the dance studio, and the Taekwondo Mei Elite is its most polished expression. In "Aurora Coffee", the Three Stripes dress this women's trainer in a deep, rich brown that feels equal parts retro and grown-up.

It is the build that sets it apart. A premium leather upper with a soft textile lining wraps the foot almost like a slipper, while the asymmetric side lacing leaves the instep clean and gives the shoe its contemporary edge. Underneath, the gum rubber outsole follows the split-sole construction of the archive Mei ballet shoes, so the foot can flex naturally. Bold stitching and tonal stripes finish the look.

These ballet trainers are remarkably easy to wear. Try them with cream wide-leg trousers, dark raw denim or a knitted midi skirt: the chocolate tone warms up every autumn outfit. From the office to a weekend wander or a relaxed dinner, the Taekwondo Mei Elite steps in for your usual flats without giving up comfort.

As ballet sneakers keep reshaping women's wardrobes, this pair holds a special spot: more substantial than the ultra-delicate takes, more refined than a gym shoe. It is an easy addition to your line-up of essentials, sitting comfortably next to a Samba or a Gazelle when you want to switch up your silhouette.
