Air Max 95 colourways this Black Friday: from the original gradient to 2026's new releases

The 95's layered design was made for gradients, which is why it pulls off combinations that would be hard to stomach on any other silhouette. The grey version with a pop of colour is the historic benchmark and the one everyone pictures, but since then the trainer has worked its way through the entire palette without breaking a sweat. New takes arrive every season, so by November there's usually an interesting mix of catalogue classics and this year's drops, including a few versions that are already hard to find elsewhere.

Sergio Lozano's Air Max 95: a design inspired by human anatomy

It's a well-known story, and it goes a long way to explaining why the trainer looks the way it does. Its designer, Sergio Lozano, built it around the idea of the human body: the layers of the upper work like muscle fibres, the central structure acts as a spine, and the eyelets sit much lower than usual. It was also the silhouette that brought the Air unit to the forefoot, something the line had never done before. It's probably the most conceptual Air Max of all, and the one that best explains why this family of Nike Air Max trainers inspires such loyalty. If you're into that more aggressive look, the Air Max Plus and the Air Max 97 go exactly the same way.

How to style your Air Max 95s this winter

This is a trainer with loads of personality, so the smart move is to let it lead and keep the rest of your outfit low-key: dark wide-leg trousers, a plain sweatshirt and not much else. It works especially well with technical or work trousers, since they share the utilitarian feel the 95 has built in. And if the colourway you've chosen is already loud, don't compete with it through your clothes; the trainer speaks for itself.
